Today was one of the very best days (so far) of my Nationals-loving life. OK, not quite as good as "ten in a row!" or Zimmerman's walk-off on Father's Day off Chien-Ming Wang or the five of six from the Mets last September, but right up there.
I need to work for a while, but check back later tonight. Today's ESPN Zone event with Jim Bowden and Mike Rizzo included tons of revealing highlights that I will share later. Kasten on the Crow negotiation, Rizzo on Strasburg and how he managed to strike it rich in the draft so often in Arizona, and more.
But the highlight, no question, was when Jim came over to tell me what he thinks of the blog. Dave from Bottomfeeder Baseball was on hand to witness the whole thing, so I'm sure he'll factcheck every detail of my account.
But I need to do my job for a while, so check back later. You won't be disappointed.

Did he try to run you over with his Segway?
I just looked up Nationals Park on Wikipedia and one of the nicknames it has for Nats Park is "Natsville."
Who calls it that?
probably Clint.
I can't wait to find out how it went. I almost wonder if he pulled a "Don Henley gets on state with Mojo Nixon" kind of thing
I'm looking forward to it too.
By the way, sorry to have stood you up, Steven, but I was in meetings from the minute my flight landed from Vancouver. Poor excuse, I know; I'll try to prep my clients for this kind of event next time.
Sorry guys--wife + kid + dinner party = you all will need to wait a few hours for the story.
