New Feature: Right Direction/Wrong Track Poll

Off on the right side of the page, you may notice a new gadget--a poll asking you whether in your view the Nationals are headed in the right direction or are off on the wrong track. This poll is of course a take-off on one of the most consistently tracked and reliably indicative questions in opinion polling--"Is America headed in the right direction or off on the wrong track." Think of it as a kind of approval rating for the team.

My plan, if y'all are into it, is to leave this poll as a permanent feature and re-ask it on a biweekly basis. So you can vote in this poll, and then again in the poll that goes up in 2 weeks, etc. Also, if you vote "right direction" at the beginning of the month and change your mind, the blogger.com polling feature allows you to change your vote.

If people are interested and participate, what we'll get is a sense over time of the overall confidence of the fanbase in the direction of the team. I'm curious to see what happens, but if people get bored with the idea, I'll probably drop it after a while. Or if changing it every two weeks is too much, maybe I'll just make it a monthly poll. Stay tuned, and if you're into it, vote!

I like it. Monthly might be best, though -- i.e., maybe leave it up for the first week or ten days, then just keep the results up till the new month and new poll.

Nat--try typing control-+. that usually zooms whatever webpage you are looking at, if you use windows.
