Why Can't We Get Coverage Like This...

Seattle's down to one paper, while we still have two major dailies, but this article, printed in an actual dead tree newspaper, reminds us how much better the coverage could be. Harlan's getting better, but we still get far, far too many articles centered around misleading-to-meaningless stats like batting average and pitchers' W-L records.

ESPN mag this month focuses on defensive ratings as the main part of their season preview.
It's not too stat-heavy, but interesting to see the big boys finally acknowledging the value of 'non-traditional' numbers.

. . . while we have only one . . .

Huh? Whatever you think of the Examiner and the Times, they do exist. And the Times has pretty fair Nats coverage.

um, typo, mulit-tasking, whatever...

That was my point was that Seattle lost it's second paper, but we still have two. Three with the Examiner, and there are probably lots of other little community rags out there too.

I am with you on the multitasking... and I don't even have diapers to change 8^)

While we're at it, we should probably also take the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star into account, not least because of their P-Nats coverage.

Heck, even Peter Schmuck at the Sunpaper gives us some love once in a while.
