Wow, Jim Riggleman really taught Joe West a lesson showing him up like that on the field. And boy did it inspire his men to fight hard to win. I'm personally moved by the passion and intensity that Riggleman showed arguing with the umps.
Er, nevermind.

STRAW MAN ALERT!
STRAW MAN ALERT!
I don't recall anyone here suggesting that getting thrown out of a ballgame helps your team win.
Listening to Charlie and Dave, the Nats were getting hosed by West all afternoon.
If I were paying $30 a ticket like I was earlier this year, I'd darn well like a rhubarb-- if nothing else as a colorful, theatrical proxy for my own frustration.
Listening to Charlie and Dave, the Nats were getting hosed by West all afternoon.
This happens on the same day the manager runs out on the field and shows up the umpire.
100% correlation or maybe just a bit of causation?
Being an ass to the umps will never help your team. You're picking a fight with the judge with no jury or attorney present.
