Strasburg Roundtable

Ed at Federal Baseball organized a roundtable discussion on the Strasburg a week or so ago before the signing deadline. Though I participated, I was out to lunch and missed the actual post. So if you missed it, check it out. Part one is here, and part two is here. We had a good chat including a couple of the FB bloggers, Dave from NNN, and some non-blogging fans.

Congrats on being right that he would sign. I was with you all along (honest), and a bit surprised that the number ended up as low as it did. By the way, did you see Dan Rosenheck's NYT piece today? It's what you've been saying for some time (including in the roundtable), and you are both exactly right. I am continually amazed at how many fans want to take the billionaire's side over the young player and his agent. So many poorly informed people, and what does this system get them? -- a skewed system where the Yankees and the Red Sox get the lion's share of the great players because they've been so underpaid for six years.
