Oh. My. God. All Nationals fans have to watch this. Just, wow.
Update: In my immediate shock, I had to get this up fast. Really, this is like something out of 30 Rock or something. But here are a few of the more unbelievable moments, even to me, a seasoned Bowden gawker:
"Carmine? Is she hot?" "I think he might be a guy, actually." "Oh, nevermind."
"OPS" as a newfangled stat.
"and these OBPATUZXYZ figures..."
A fascinating revisionist history blaming both statheads and scouts for his infamous Paul O'Neill-Roberto Kelly trade.
Can't believe Bowden used to be an MLB GM. He's nothing more than a creep.
The complete silence between Bowden's "Is she hot?" and Theo's awkward laugh was hilariously painful. You can almost see Epstein thinking, "Really, he just said that? On camera? That DUI makes more sense now. Crap, what do I do? I guess I'd better chuckle and hope it's all over soon. Freak."
I think the guy may be trying for a major gig on reality tv. The next Celebrity Apprentice would be a natural career move for him. Or maybe he can show up as a prospective boyfriend for one of the Kardashian sisters.
I think Jimmy Bowden and former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich are the same person. Are there stats measuring a persons desperation and lack of dignity?
OK, wow. That may be the best way to remember the Jim Bowden era. He was dirty used car salesman who can "charm" the ignorant and lower end of the masses. The smarter baseball people can see right through him.
At some point, everyone has dated "that girl"... only the Nats clung to Jim like Linus to his blanket until it became clear he was going to begin costing the Lerners some serious money, and would likely have his name end up in a headline with the word "indicted".
Great find, and another special thanks to Theo Epstein... that made my week.
My immidiate reaction was "wow, I'm so glad he's not our GM anymore," but that quickly became "I'm rooting for a team that somehow saw THAT GUY as being capable of running their baseball team!"
I wanna know, what happened to all the commenters who used to get on this site and defend Bowden and tell me how he's not really that bad and I should get off his case?
What I find most amazing is how this man TWICE became a General Manager of a multi-hundred million dollar company. This only further proves my belief that I would be better than many current GMs.
I like runs created and OBP too, Dayton Moore, but I'm smart enough not to trade for a guy with an OBP 55 points below league average.

The ending is priceless!
Well, thanks. That just infuriated me.

JimBo is just the gift that keeps on giving.

Hold on while I change into some clean shorts.

I expect that sort of amaturism from Jim Bowden. Somehow I expected more from FoxSports. That was awful from any possible angle. Lesson learned...

I can only hope that there will be many more installments of the GM's Corner in the near future. In a word, it was "awesome."
*wipes tear from eye*
