Well apparently I was on to something speculating on a SS trade with the Orioles. I just had the wrong one--the rumor now is about Lopez.
I'm fine with trading either or both. Given their ages and ability, neither of these two are very likely to be a part of the first great Nationals team. Anytime we can trade old for young, improving for declining, etc., and restock with young talent that might have a chance to be a part of the first great Nationals team, that's the direction we should be going.
Had to chuckle though at this line in the MLBTradeRumors.com blurb: "Jim Bowden's asking price shouldn't be too high." I guess they don't know our JimBo very well.
