Tonight the Nationals need to draw at least 20,660 to avoid falling behind the 2003 Reds for worst per game average attendance for a new stadium since the new generation of stadiums were opened starting in 1989. The Reds' 'record' is 29,077.
They should avoid passing the Reds for one more day, but barring a sudden surge in fan interest, it appears inevitable that the Nationals will fall behind the Reds tomorrow.
