Someone Call Glenn Beck!

So Barack Obama is going to throw out the first pitch at the Nationals' home opener. You know what this means, right? Another step towards socialism. You think it's a coincidence that this team has used the advertising slogan "get your RED on"? And what's it called when the government forcibly takes over a private industry? NATIONAL-ization! Ha! Coincidence? I don't think so. By the way, has anyone seen Stan Kasten's birth certificate? I fear for my country.

Great. I'll have to put up with uneducated, hysterical, and irrational idiots. The Phillies fans!

Big F-ing Deal.
He better not wear his White Sox jacket and mom-jeans, or he will be booed. Just saying.

He will wear the Sox jacket, and he will not be booed.

I'm partially in agreement with Anonymous 6:38PM: I'm willing to look the other way on the Sox jacket, but if he wears his mom-jeans, I'm booing.

I didn't vote for him, don't like his policies, don't like him.

But I'm honored that the President of the United States will be there and will stand up and cheer when he goes out to throw the first pitch.

Sadly, yes, he will be booed. But he's a big boy and will deal with it.

What do you think the odds are that someone can talk him into participating in the Presidents' race?

Did we ever get an explanation why he didn't do it last year? He said he would and then (disappointingly for those of us who had tickets) he didn't.

All I can find is this.

he was too cool and popular to associate with the lowly scats last year, so now that his approval ratings are tanking he doesn't mind associating with the worst team in baseball. makes sense to me.

I hope he doesn't get booed. I think POTUS is a special position in our government, and I don't ever like to see that person get booed, regardless of whether I agree with them or not. I was there when Bush got booed, and I did not enjoy it. Even in today's political environment, I think it's an office that deserves more respect than that even if you don't like the guy who holds it.

And he should absolutely participate in the President's race!

I don't know why he didn't come last year, but there's a political balance in appearances like this for any president. On one hand, it makes him seem like a 'regular guy,' and on the other hand, people think, "how can he have time for shit like this when the economy is in crisis?" I don't know, but I would guess that's at least a part of why he wasn't at Nationals Park last year and why Bush didn't always come. The days of an annual tradition may be over.

Wearing the gear of a team other than the two that are playing always seems douchey to me. Especially if you are performing some sort of official duty at the game.

Bush wore Nats gear when he threw out the first pitches for Nats games. We'll see if supporting the D.C. area is yet another broken Obama promise.

What makes this country great is that we don't have royalty. We are represented by regular people, no one is better than anyone else, and we can express our opinions without being thrown in jail. At least for now.

If you don't like President Obama, that's fine. Don't boo the President of the United States. I thought Dubya was historically bad, but I didn't boo him. Polite clapping for the office.

I think he should just wear his regular suit and toss the ball out from his box next to the dugout. No baseball cap, no team jacket, no mom jeans. Way more dignified. Like JFK.
